Borosilicate glass 3.3 glassware

We don't process raw material like paste in fusion, but finished or semi-finished pieces, that are later on processed at the work table or bench burner.
In our workplace the glassblower uses a hand burner, which can reach temperatures from 1200°C up to 1500°C. This will allow the deformation, the displacement and the fusion of the material, according to the customer's wishes.
We can therefore manufacture a big quantity of pieces, that differ in shape and use, our imagination being the only limit.

Setup of a reactor DN200

During the fabrication at the glassblowing lathes of a reactor made of borosilicate glass 3.3 (type DURAN, PYREX, etc.) with an internal diameter of 200 mm, we fuse a lateral tubing with screwthread GL18 to supply the double wall with cooling or warming water.
During this procedure, the temperature needs to be constantly at 500°C, in order to avoid tension, which can break the glass.

Set of glassware for the chemistry class

This set of glassware made of borosilicate glass 3.3 (type DURAN, PYREX, etc.) with normalised sockets, allows a setup for demonstrations in the chemistry class in high schools and universities.
For this set, we let make a packaging, allowing to put away easily the different parts. The packaging has different compartments, with the same shape as the elements.
The box contains: flasks with one or three  necks, Liebig condenser, Hempel column, shaft, still receiver and  still head for distillation etc.

Setup of a reactor DN200 bis

During the fabrication at the glassblowing lathe of a reactor made of borosilicate glass 3.3 (type DURAN, PYREX, etc.) with an internal diameter of 200 mm, we fuse a lateral tubing with screwthread GL18 to supply the double wall, with cooling or warmed water that can go from one wall to another.
During this procedure, the temperature needs to be constantly at 500°C, in order to avoid tension, which can break the glass.

Glass reactor with double wall DN60

This reactor with double wall made of borosilicate glass 3.3 (type DURAN, PYREX, etc.) is the result of a collaboration with a customer. He saw this prototype realised, after he had informed us about the manipulation and all the technical data (temperature and volume).
In the internal tube we have welded a glass plate, with a thickness of 5 mm and with wholes with a diameter of 3 mm.
The external tube with a lateral exit, allows the complete emptying of the internal tube.
A flat lid, made of a glass plate with a thickness of 5 mm, allows the limitation of the total height of the piece.

Glass bearers for samples

Production of these glass bearers in borosilicate glass 3.3 (type DURAN, PYREX, etc.) at a customer's request and in function of three criteria: the volume, the size of the samples, to place in the bearers, and the amount of samples.

Reflux top part

Made of borosilicate glass 3.3 (type DURAN, PYREX, etc) based on a model, designed by the customer.
This piece contains: a condenser with a double wall and double spiral with an external double walled part as well, airtight, aluminized and with transparent, not aluminized window. Laterally there is a condenser with angle, with a piston serving as a valve, operated by an electromagnet, in order to regulate the reflux in the column. We have used conical connectors with a RODAVISS system. They are used for the improvement of the sealing by the setup and to avoid glass breakage, when the connectors are disassembled.

Manufacturing at the glassblowing lathe of a double walled reactor DN200

Manufacturing of a reactor made of borosilicate glass 3.3 (type DURAN, PYREX, etc.) of DN200 (internal diameter of 200 mm) according to the sketch of a customer.
For this manipulation, because of its volume, its weight and its heating degree, the piece has to be manufactured at the glassblowing lathe.

Glass reactor with double wall DN120 (internal diameter 120 mm)

This reactor with double wall made of borosilicate glass 3.3 (type DURAN, PYREX, etc.) was manufactured based on a client’s model.

Manufacture of a flange with a groove

We can manufacture a flange from 60 to 300 mm with a groove out of a glass tube made of BORO 3.3.
This has two advantages: firstly there is no welding between the tube and the flange. Secondly, these flanges can be manufactured out of all diameters of standard tubes, regardless of their wall thickness.
For example: DN100, made of a tube with a diameter of 120mm and a wall thickness of 9mm.
For the diameter DN300, which is not a standard dimension, the quick release clamp made of INOX can be delivered as well.

Aquarium made of borosilicate glass 3.3

By welding different plates of borosilicate glass one to another, we can manufacture an aquarium conform to our client’s desired dimensions. This aquarium can be manufactured with a single or double wall and can be provided with glass tubes with screw thread. Here an example of an aquarium with a lid.

Soxhlet

We can produce all types of Soxhlet extractors. These Soxhlet devices can be manufactured in standard or tailored dimensions. In this example: volume 125 ml, male connection NS45/40 and a female connection NS24/29.

Aquariums made of borosilicate glass 3.3

By welding borosilicate glass plates from different dimensions, we are able to produce aquaria. These aquaria can be manufactured as simple or double walled glass work. We can also add tubes with a screw thread. On this picture you can see different aquaria from different heights, which vary between 100 and 600 mm, both with and without lids.


Reactor with double wall DN200 and volume 10l with a tap ID20 mm

For this glass work we manufactured a reactor with double wall (type DURAN, PYREX, etc.) and we used our expertise regarding to the use of the connectors that make the connection between the funnel, silicon tube…  During this production, our most important objective was to meet our client’s wishes and requirements. He wanted a glass work, which was able to guarantee vacuum and chemical and thermal resistance.  In addition, we also delivered other accessories such as seals, stirrer bearings, the stand with fixation accessories etc., allowing our customer to immediately make use of his glass work upon delivery.
